PPS provides safety tips on personal tracking devices
Personal tracking devices are newer technology devices that are intended to be placed in or on items and track their movements — such as cell phones or keys. They are small and discreet — often difficult to notice. Their intention is for personal device tracking and safety purposes, but there is an increase nationwide in criminal activity reported through the improper use of PTDs. Here are a few tips from the Police and Public Safety Office to remain safe.
How are PTDs being used criminally?

Meet Sofia Mejia
Sofia Mejia, a graduate student in the Cato College of Education, is studying counseling with a focus on school counseling. She is the graduate assistant for the Jamil Niner Student Pantry, where she runs its daily operations. Mejia schedules shopping appointments, volunteers and volunteer events, shops for food and partners with organizations in the community such as Loaves and Fishes and Hope Street.

The Office of Adult Student and Evening Services, better known as “OASES,” is updating its name to better reflect its services to the University.

Cooking and baking can be super hard when living in a dorm room, but with help from the Culinary Club you’ll be cooking like a master chef in no time. The two main essentials you’ll need are a microwave and a mug – yes we said a coffee mug! If you don’t have a mug, a microwavable bowl will always suffice. Why did you choose UNC Charlotte?
After touring various colleges that offered the programs I was interested in, Charlotte stood out to me the most. My immediate impression was how manicured the landscape was, and I figured if they cared this much about their grass, then they’ll definitely take care of their students.

Meet Kobe Brown
Kobe Brown is a first-generation college student. A senior majoring in criminal justice, he is a distance runner for the Charlotte men’s track and field team. Additionally, he is vice president of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, attorney general for the Student Government Association and has volunteered for the Center for Counseling and Psychological Services.
