Crowdfund UNC Charlotte is an online platform that harnesses the power of the broader UNC Charlotte community to help students, faculty and staff create detailed campaigns and raise funds to fuel their passions, innovations and ideas. It enables students to become leaders and fosters a philanthropic force across campus.

Susan Dodson DeVore Women’s Leadership Development Program established

A $1 million gift from UNC Charlotte alumna, business innovator and Board of Trustees emerita Susan Dodson DeVore ’81 will establish a leadership program that will support the next generation of women leaders.

Niner Nation Week: Homecoming 2023

UNC Charlotte is gearing up for the biggest celebration of the year with gatherings, performances, spirit contests and more, all culminating with the signature Homecoming events.

Fundraising event to support Ellis Reed Parlier Memorial Scholarship

UNC Charlotte and boutique jeweler Kendra Scott are partnering for a fundraising event to benefit the Ellis Reed Parlier Scholarship. From Sept.15-30, 20% of all online proceeds will be donated to the scholarship. 

Penny Hawkins appointed associate vice chancellor of development

Penny Hawkins has been appointed associate vice chancellor for development at UNC Charlotte. She has served in the role in an interim capacity since July 15, 2022. She succeeds Beth Crigler, who was appointed recently vice chancellor for university advancement.

Beth Derrick Crigler has been appointed vice chancellor for advancement at UNC Charlotte, following a national search. She has served in this role in an interim capacity since July 2022. 

#NinerNationGives raised a record-breaking $3.1 million

#NinerNationGives only comes once a year, and 2023 was one for the books. With the theme “It Takes A Nation,” Niners across the country galvanized to strengthen the University and  champion the next generation.

The 49-hour initiative kicked off at noon, March 28, and wrapped up at 1 p.m., March 30. Here are a few highlights:

Dale F. Halton remembered as a trailblazer, friend and loyal 49ers fan

On March 21, UNC Charlotte lost an enthusiastic champion, generous benefactor and supportive friend with the death of Dale F. Halton.
