Professor named to AIA College of Fellows
David Thaddeus, professor of structures and architectural design, was named to the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects (AIA); the AIA’s highest membership honor, only three percent of AIA members achieve Fellowship status.
“David embodies the poetics and empathy of an architect with the calculus of an engineer,” said School of Architecture Director Chris Jarrett. “He has singularly influenced and educated a generation of licensed architects. He is beloved as a teacher and mentor and professional. He has inspired thousands of students and emerging professionals, here at UNC Charlotte and across the nation and beyond.”
Thaddeus has taught at UNC Charlotte since 1999. His research interests include the pedagogy of teaching structural concepts and the sustainability and performance of structures, materials and construction methods.
