Charlotte 49ers football adds two coaches
Greg Adkins and Keith Henry have joined the Charlotte 49ers football program as offensive line coach and running backs coach, respectively.
Adkins spent the past two years as offensive line coach at Oklahoma State. He coached tight ends for the NFL’s Buffalo Bills the previous two years.
Henry comes to the 49ers after spending the last three years as assistant head coach at his alma mater, Catawba College. Previously, he spent 11 years at Wake Forest University.
Adkins said, “One of my mantras that I use in coaching the offensive line is I believe in developing the person before developing the player. I believe the line is built with trust and relationships. The O-Line is a unique part of a football team — you need to get five guys to buy into what you’re teaching — and supplying them with one voice so the kids can play at a fast level with physicality is as important a job as I have.”
For Henry, his philosophy is “to hold the guys responsible and to help them grow, help them learn, help them be better fathers one day and make them better citizens.”
