At her 100th birthday celebration, Professor Emerita of Nursing Elinor Caddell was honored with the Order of the Long Leaf Pine, one of North Carolina’s highest honors. Given by the governor, the award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to their communities.

Newsweek has ranked UNC Charlotte No. 18 nationally on its student-focused list of America’s Top Online Colleges for 2023. Charlotte moved up from No. 66 in last year’s rankings and was awarded five out of five stars — the highest recognition.

704 Shop

Alumni-owners of the popular 704 Shop lifestyle brand recently released a new T-shirt design with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the University’s 704 Shop Scholarship for Creatives. Established in 2019, the scholarship provides support for students passionate about creative design, particularly in apparel and manufacturing.


CENTER OF INNOVATION

Center of Innovation

To support the growing entrepreneurial ecosystem on campus and in the Charlotte region, UNC Charlotte is aligning its education and outreach efforts through the new Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Integrating the work of Ventureprise, the Small Business and Technology Development Center and the University’s undergraduate and graduate certificates in entrepreneurship, the center will launch in January 2023.
