Coming off of a historic 2019 bowl season, the Charlotte 49ers have released their 12-game 2020 football schedule, which includes six contests against 2019-20 bowl teams.

“The challenges are very evident, right from the opener at an SEC opponent (Sept. 5 at Tennessee) and going into the conference season,” said second-year head coach Will Healy, who led the 49ers (7-6; C-USA: 5-3) to a first-ever bowl game in his first season. “We know we’ve got our work cut out for us. We know we’ve got to establish a process now, in the winter months, that prepares us for what we will face this fall.”

The 49ers’ slate includes six home games, three of which will come against bowl participants, and six road games. Charlotte opens the season with four non-conference matchups before its eight games in Conference USA play.

The 49ers will play all six C-USA East Division opponents and two crossover games against West Division foes. The six bowl teams include non-conference foes Tennessee and Georgia State as well as C-USA opponents Florida Atlantic, FIU, Marshall and WKU.
