Strong Enrollment Numbers
Offering 75 bachelor’s, 65 master’s, and 24 doctoral programs to nearly 30,000 students, UNC Charlotte is attracting the best and brightest. In fact, we just enrolled the largest graduate class in the University’s history with 5,545 students, including 1,073 pursuing doctorates.
Most impressive, this year’s undergraduate first-year class is one of our most diverse and strongest academically, with an average GPA of 4.0.
“These outcomes are a testament to the quality of our undergraduate and graduate programs, our talented faculty and staff, and the departments that worked tirelessly to recruit this year’s class,” said Chancellor Philip L. Dubois.
Here are the latest stats to fill you with Niner pride:
- 29,615 students enrolled, 24,070 are undergraduates
- 115 full merit scholarship packages were awarded through the Levine Scholars Program, Crown Scholars Program, Albert Engineering Leadership Scholars Program and the Duke Energy Distinguished EPIC Student Fellowships
- 1,114 annual and endowed institutional scholarships awarded for academic year 2019-2020, totaling more than $4.22 million
- This year’s first-year class hails from 42 states and 24 countries; 2,165 are first-generation college students—and 80% of them live on campus.
