Young football fan gets a surprise
The Charlotte 49ers football team recently helped make a dream come true for a young football fan.
Noah Hall, a resident of China Grove, North Carolina, has Robinow syndrome, a rare genetic disorder characterized by short-limbed dwarfism. Hall, who is 6 years old, is a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and he learned last week that he would be attending a future Steelers home game. But first, he made a stop at UNC Charlotte’s Jerry Richardson Stadium, where he met Steelers offensive lineman Derwin Gray and members of the Charlotte 49ers football team.
The youngster’s surprise was made possible through Dream On 3, a Harrisburg-based organization that fulfills the dreams of children with chronic illnesses and intellectual and developmental disabilities “by creating experiences of joy and magic through the world of sports.”
The Charlotte Observer chronicled Hall’s campus visit in an article by David Scott.
