Charlotte 49ers 2019 football schedule released, season tickets on sale

The Charlotte 49ers 2019 football schedule includes six contests against 2018 bowl teams, including a trip to National Champion Clemson. The 49ers’ 12-game slate includes six home games and six road games with four non-conference matchups and eight Conference USA contests.

Charlotte will play all six C-USA East Division opponents and two cross-over games against West Division foes under first-year head coach Will Healy.

“Just seeing this schedule, we know what’s in front of us and this whole thing becomes more real, what we’re working each day to accomplish together as a team,” said Healy, who was head coach at Austin Peay before taking over for the 49ers in December. “With September games in Boone and at Clemson, this is the toughest out-of-conference schedule in our league, but it’s one we believe will prepare us for battle in Conference USA.”

The six bowl participants are Sun Belt Conference Champion Appalachian State, National Champions Clemson and C-USA opponents FIU, North Texas, Middle Tennessee and Marshall.

Charlotte is coming off a 5-7 season in which it finished fourth in the East Division with a 4-4 league mark. The 49ers tied the school record for wins in a season and set the mark for C-USA wins. Charlotte returns 12 starters, eight all-Conference USA honorees and each of the four 2018 team captains.

“A part of me wishes it were already Aug. 31, just because I’m so fired up to get this started,” Healy stated, “but we all know how much work we’ve got to do between now and then to be the kind of football team we believe we can be in 2019.”

Note: All games are subject to date changes, and some dates are expected to move in the coming weeks in order to accommodate national television. A schedule of televised games will be released at a later date.
