Policy on contracting with state employees/relatives revised

University Policy 603.2 Contracting with State Employees or Relatives of State Employees has been revised to clarify and update the policy, procedures, roles and responsibilities. The revised policy clearly sets forth procedures for employees and the Purchasing Office and provides that Materials Management will review every proposed contractual procurement relationship that involves a University employee, state of North Carolina employee or their immediate family members.

Nomination deadline for faculty governance positions

Nominations are being accepted for a number of faculty governance positions. Faculty members can nominate themselves or other qualified faculty members for:

ACCEHW sponsoring webinar to eat the ‘Med Way’

University employees who are interested in learning more about the Mediterranean Diet should register to view the webinar “Steps to Eating the Med Way: Rethink Your Sweets.”

Carolyn Dunn, a professor and nutrition specialist at N.C. State University, will facilitate this webinar, scheduled for noon, Friday, March 24.

Norman needs shared leave

University Policy 601.4 revised

Temporary pedestrian walkway closure at CRI Deck

Through Friday, April 14, the rear pedestrian entrance/exit of the lower level of the CRI Parking Deck will be closed to install a drainage system as part of the Deck Storm Water Improvement project.

Safety fencing and signage have been installed around the area.

Policy regarding death of a student revised

On March 14, University Policy 404 Death of a Student was revised to provide clear communication and notification procedures, clear delineation of various responsibilities and to add a “Postvention Response Team.”

Patent policy revised

University Policy 301, Patent Policy, was revised effective March 13. The revision reflects the newly delegated authority of the vice chancellor for research and economic development to appoint members of the University’s Patent Committee.

Temporary closure of North Deck level two entrance

The North Deck’s level two entrance and exit lances will be closed temporarily from 8 a.m., Monday, March 20, through 8 p.m., Friday, April 7, to install new parking access control equipment.

Vehicles will be required to enter and exit level one on the lower northwest corner of the deck. Barricades and signage will be directed, and heavy equipment and construction personnel will be on site.

Pedestrians and vehicles should approach construction zones with caution.

 

ITS moving S and J drive files

Files on the S and J drives will move to new hardware starting at 10 p.m., Monday, March 27. ITS expects this work to be completed by 6 a.m., March 28. During this move, files will be “read only.”
