Theatre professor to join national board

Associate Professor of Theatre CarlosAlexis Cruz will join the 2020 board class for the Network of Ensemble Theaters; he is one of six new board members from across the United States. The Network of Ensemble Theaters (NET) is a national community of artists and arts organizations committed to the advancement of the ensemble form through advocacy, education and capacity-building. It has hundreds of members from across the country.

Three UNC Charlotte alumni were honored recently with the Bank of America Alumni Network Award. This annual award, now in its third year, is sponsored by Bank of America and the UNC Charlotte Alumni Association to recognize alumni employees who have provided superior service to the bank and shown commitment to the community.Alexandra Hayes ’18 received the Young Professional Achievement Award, Stephen Collie ’02 was presented the Professional Achievement Award, and Ashley Striblin ’06 received the Alumni Service Award.

New program offers opportunities for future behavioral health care leaders

The UNC Charlotte School of Social Work and Cardinal Innovations Healthcare have teamed up to launch the Behavioral Healthcare Leadership Academy, a program for students at UNC Charlotte interested in pursuing leadership-based careers in behavioral health care.Through the program, eight undergraduate or graduate scholars will participate in monthly development workshops, webinars and project-based learning opportunities. Participants will receive access to various resources (i.e. books, webinars, additional training opportunities) and a $500 stipend.
