Submit 49ers Athletics Hall of Fame nominations by Feb. 16

Nominations for the 2024 class of the Charlotte 49ers Athletics Hall of Fame are being accepted through Friday, Feb. 16. Members of the public can submit nominees, who will be voted upon by the 49ers Hall of Fame Selection Committee.
To be eligible for the 2024 class, a student-athlete’s final competition must have occurred in or before the 2017-18 season. Active Charlotte 49ers coaches and administrators are not eligible.

Reitzel to lead grant writing development for Graduate and Postdoctoral Writing Center

Adam Reitzel, professor of biological sciences and co-director for CIPHER, was named Faculty Fellow of Grant Writing in the UNC Charlotte Graduate and Postdoctoral Writing Center.

The UNC Charlotte School of Professional Studies recently convened the inaugural Leading the Change: Charlotte Symposium on Online Learning and Beyond. Online learning leaders and advocates across UNC Charlotte discussed ways to best prepare the University for the growing demand from students for high-quality online programs. 

The event provided a platform to share successes, exchange ideas, discuss challenges, and envision the exciting path ahead for Charlotte online.

National recognition for Niner Esports, UNC Charlotte’s esports club, continues with winning Club of the Year at this year’s Scholars Collegiate Gaming Awards in Las Vegas.

Current club co-presidents Alexis Diamond and Pake Cary, along with community events director Valentin Cannon and former club president and current Niner Esports alumni advisor Jorge Sanchez ’23 accepted the honor at Resorts World Las Vegas.
