49ers Athletic Foundation to hold 35th Great Gold Rush Auction
The Charlotte 49ers Athletic Foundation will host the 35th annual Great Gold Rush Auction, Saturday, June 2, in Halton Arena, Barnhardt Student Activity Center.
This fundraising event will begin with a silent auction at 5:30 p.m.; the live auction starts at 8:30 p.m. on the arena floor. A food extravaganza will be available throughout the evening.
Admission to the auction is $125 per person. A table of 10 can be purchased for $1,250. All proceeds from the event support the 49ers athletic scholarship fund.
The annual Great Gold Rush Auction is the foundation’s largest single-day fundraiser. More than 600 attendees are expected to bid on 1,600-plus items valued in excess of $400,000, including getaway vacations, electronics, restaurant certificates, once-in-a-lifetime experiences, sports memorabilia, artwork and furniture.
The Charlotte 49ers Athletic Foundation expects to raise nearly $265,000 at the auction, which translates to about 24 scholarships for deserving student-athletes.
