Wide receiver on Biletnikoff Award watch list
Charlotte 49ers junior wide receiver Victor Tucker has been named to the 2020 Biletnikoff Award Preseason Watch List. The Biletnikoff Award is presented annually to the season’s outstanding college football receiver regardless of position (the award defines receiver as any player who catches a pass hence, tight ends, slot receivers and backs, inside receivers, wide receivers, split ends and running backs are eligible) by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation Inc.
Tucker, the 49ers standout junior wide receiver, ranked third in C-USA with an 89.9 receiving average in conference games last year and led the league with five 100-yard receiving games against league opponents. He led the 49ers with a school FBS record of 909 receiving yards and seven TD catches. He averaged 69.9 yds/gm and 17.5 yds/catch and led the 49ers with 26 catches of 15 or more yards. All seven TD catches were 15 or more yards, including a 58-yard TD at Old Dominion that was the longest of the season for the 49ers. He earned Honorable Mention all-C-USA from the league’s coaches, was named first team all-C-USA by Pro Football Focus and earned second team honors from Phil Steele.
