Updated NinerNext agreement formalizes pathway for bachelor’s in data science, with new programs in the pipeline.

Beginning with the 2024-25 academic year, UNC Charlotte will move to a professional advisor model for all undergraduate students with the addition of 21 new positions. 

“Professional advising for undergraduate students is one significant lever in creating optimal conditions for academic success,” said Jennifer Troyer, provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs. “All undergraduate students will be assigned a professional advisor who will be fully dedicated to helping them complete their degrees in a timely manner.” 

Phi Beta Kappa is the nation’s oldest honor society, but it is relatively new to Charlotte. Learn more about the honor society and how you can work to be inducted into the society from current Charlotte chapter president Joanne Maguire and founding president Gregory Starrett.

Two outstanding UNC Charlotte Honors College juniors have been nominated for the 2024 Barry Goldwater Scholarship, considered one of the top awards for undergraduate U.S. STEM students. The scholarship helps identify the next generation of leaders in scientific, mathematical and engineering research, funding up to $7,500 annually for their education.

National winners for the prestigious scholarship will be announced in April.

UNC Charlotte’s tuition will remain unchanged for resident undergraduate students for the eighth consecutive year. Additionally, fees have been adjusted to result in an overall net decrease of $5 for all students. The UNC Board of Governors approved the tuition and fee schedule Thursday, Feb. 29.

The 2024 Spring Commencement ceremonies will take place in Halton Arena on Friday, May 10, and Saturday, May 11. Friday, May 10, 10 a.m.

Three UNC Charlotte students from the College of Humanities & Earth and Social Sciences and the Belk College of Business are nominees for the prestigious Truman Scholarship. All three students are also members of the Honors College.

UNC Charlotte and Stanly Community College have joined forces to pioneer the inaugural OnRamp to Charlotte Online agreement, a partnership tailored to support working adult students seeking a flexible online pathway from associate degree to bachelor’s degree.

This collaboration builds upon the foundation of the North Carolina Comprehensive Articulation Agreement, facilitating seamless information exchange between institutions. It aims to provide students with dedicated enrollment coaching and advising across a selection of programs offered by both colleges.
