Stephanie Stenglein ’07 didn’t know what a 501c3 was when she started the Master of Public Administration program at UNC Charlotte. But she knew she enjoyed nonprofit work, and that it drew on her skills as a communicator and relationship builder.
Three University alumni honored by Bank of America
Three UNC Charlotte alumni were honored recently with the Bank of America Alumni Network Award. This annual award, now in its third year, is sponsored by Bank of America and the UNC Charlotte Alumni Association to recognize alumni employees who have provided superior service to the bank and shown commitment to the community.Alexandra Hayes ’18 received the Young Professional Achievement Award, Stephen Collie ’02 was presented the Professional Achievement Award, and Ashley Striblin ’06 received the Alumni Service Award.
Architecture team wins research award
Assistant Professor of Architecture Rachel Dickey and School of Architecture alumni Ali Karduni ’17 M.S./M.Arch. and Noushin Radnia ’18 M.S./M.Arch. have received a 2020 Architectural Research Centers Consortium (ARCC) Research Incentive Award for their proposal, “Reconfigurable Space: Kinematic Environments Controlled with Computer Vision.”

Young Alumni drive to support veterans
The UNC Charlotte Alumni Association’s Young Alumni Chapter, in conjunction with the 49er Alumni Campus Empoyees Network, will hold a Veterans Day supply drive through Friday, Nov. 15. Donations will go to active duty military service members.
Veterans Day Observance: football, supply drive, park opening
Saturday, Nov. 2, is Military Appreciation Day as the Charlotte 49ers take on Middle Tennessee at 3:30 p.m. in Jerry Richardson Stadium. Chadwick Boyd ’93 is a noted food and lifestyle expert whose biscuit tour with celebrity chef Carla Hall has created a buzz. He returns to campus Nov. 6 to talk to students about how the University influenced his career.
Dance concert to include April 30 remembrance, tributes to Freddie Mercury and Frida Kahlo
The Department of Dance will present its Fall Concert Thursday, Nov. 14, through Sunday, Nov. 17; it will feature four works choreographed by faculty and performed by students.

Stephanie Burt ’95, ’98 M.A. was featured recently on the cover of Charleston City Paper. She was interviewed for “On the Mic,” an article that focused on local podcasters in Charleston, South Carolina.A native of Charlotte, Burt hosts the weekly podcast “The Southern Fork,” featuring chefs, farmers, bakers and others in the culinary landscape from throughout the South.
