Voice professor’s opera to be performed at Kennedy Center
The Washington, D.C., company IN Series will present an opera composed by UNC Charlotte Professor of Voice Brian Arreola at the Kennedy Center Saturday, April 9.
Music students collaborating with CPCC for opera performance
Nine UNC Charlotte music students will join the cast of Carlisle Floyd’s opera, “Susannah,” in a production presented through a partnership with Central Piedmont Community College’s Opera Theatre program. Performances will be Friday, April 1, through Sunday, April 3, in the Halton Theater on the main campus of Central Piedmont.
Theatre Charlotte production features student, faculty artwork
The current Theatre Charlotte production, “Love, Loss & What I Wore,” features eight artworks by stage tech/design students and faculty from the Department of Theatre and Performing Arts Services. The play by Delia and Nora Ephron runs through April 10 in various locations in Charlotte.

Dance professor receives Emerging Creators Fellowship
Assistant Professor of Dance Tamara Williams is one of six recipients of the 2021 Emerging Creators Fellowships from the Arts & Science Council. The $5000 grants support “creatives with evolving practices that are at a pivotal moment in launching sustainable careers in the creative sector.”
