The Internal Audit Department is an important part of UNC Charlotte’s operations and management team. 

The staircase leading up to the third floor of the Friday Building will be closed through Friday, June 30, for repairs.

Third-floor access via the two main staircases off the central lobby will be available; elevators will remain in operation.

During this work, building visitors can expect construction crews and loud noise.

The Risk Management, Safety and Security (RMSS) Department is leading an effort to ensure all campus blue light phones are upgraded to the same manufacturer and technology support. Blue light phones connect directly with the Police and Public Safety (PPS) Department dispatch and can be used to call for assistance or to report crimes in progress. 

To accommodate expected parking demand for the Commencement ceremony at 1 p.m., Friday May 12, the following parking areas will be closed from 9 p.m.  Thursday, May 11, through 2 p.m., Friday, May 12:  

Several large-scale systems and applications will be unavailable starting at 6 p.m., Friday, May 19, through 10 a.m., Saturday, May 20, due to scheduled electrical work. Learn more on the ITS website.

Erik Byker, an assistant professor in the Cato College of Education’s Department of Reading and Elementary Education, has been named a Global Teacher Education (GTE) Fellow.

Jackie Simpson, associate vice chancellor and director of housing and residence life, will retire from the University in May after 37 years of service.

A retirement reception will be held from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., Friday, May 19, in SoVi at South Village Crossing. A brief program will start at 2 p.m.
