Lee College’s Daniels to talk how University advancing coal ash management

John Daniels, a professor of civil and environmental engineering and chair of the National Ash Management Advisory Board, will present “How UNC Charlotte is Advancing the Research, Practice and Policy of Coal Ash Management” at 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 14, in EPIC, G256.

Human Resources launches new SHRA performance management program

The Office of Human Resources (HR) has launched a new SHRA performance management program, NinerTalent STAKES – Succeeding through Teamwork, Active Feedback, Knowledge Transfer, Engagement and Support. 

Try the Belk Gym for free

Faculty and staff members can try out the fitness and recreation areas in Belk Gym for free Monday, March 6, through Sunday, March 12.

To take advantage of this offer, employees should bring their UNC Charlotte IDs for presentation at the check-in location.

The Belk Gym features a fitness center, cycling and group fitness studios, basketball and racquetball courts, a swimming pool and locker rooms.

Annual Undergraduate Research Conference scheduled for April 21

Registration is now open for UNC Charlotte’s Undergraduate Research Conference (URC), a University-wide showcase of undergraduate research projects.

Sponsored by Academic Affairs, Atkins Library, the Charlotte Research Institute, Honors College, and Levine Scholars Program, the conference will be Friday, April 21, in the Barnhardt Student Activity Center. Colleges and departments across the University also provide conference support. This event will be open to the campus community and to invited guests.

The webinar “Hobbies for Mental and Physical Health” can be viewed at noon, Thursday, March 16. Benefits of pursuing hobbies and why pastimes count are among the topics that will be discussed.

Parking Lot 25A to close temporarily

Parking Lot 25A will be closed from 6 a.m., Saturday, March 4, through 8 p.m., Friday, March 10, to install a water line and repave a portion of the lot.

Expect construction equipment and personnel in the area. Pedestrians and vehicular traffic should exercise caution when approaching construction zones.
