Lane closure scheduled along Phillips Road

Between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 22, one lane of Phillips Road will be closed to enable a utility contractor to install a gas line to the baseball indoor training facility.

Flaggers will maintain two-way traffic, but drivers should expect construction equipment and personnel in the area. Road work signs and traffic cones will be erected.

As a reminder, exercise caution when approaching construction zones.

University’s automotive fleet ranks among North America’s top 10

In 2004, UNC Charlotte’s automotive fleet shifted its goals to focus on building a more sustainable one. Since then, the University has realized continual fleet improvements and a significant decrease in harmful emissions by campus vehicles.

For its efforts, the University once again has earned a Green Fleet Award; this is the fourth consecutive year for this distinction.

2018 Chancellor’s Reception scheduled

The 2018 Chancellor’s Reception will be from 2 to 4 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 3, in the Popp Martin Student Union Multipurpose Room.

Hosted by Chancellor Philip L. Dubois, this annual staff recognition event provides an opportunity to socialize and network with colleagues. Light hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be served. No RSVPs are needed for this free event, which is open to all employees.

Queen needs shared leave

Nancy Queen, chemistry, needs shared leave donations. The Benefits Office will accept donations through Sept. 25.

To contribute leave, faculty and staff should refer to the requirements and participant forms in Personnel Information Memorandum (PIM) 29 or in the literature racks outside of the Benefits Office, King Building, Room 207. Construction scheduled near Miltimore-Wallis Center

On Monday, Sept. 17, work will begin to upgrade exterior drainage for the Miltimore-Wallis Center. Expect construction fencing, noise and equipment operation as construction efforts focus on grading, drainage and paver improvements.

Remember to exercise caution when approaching construction zones; work on this project is scheduled through Friday, Oct. 12.
