Niner pride displayed for Homecoming contest

The UNC Charlotte Staff Council sponsors an annual office decorating content leading up to the Homecoming football game. This year’s individual winner was Natalie Huie ’14, The Dubois Center at UNC Charlotte Center City.The first-place department winner was the Office of Parking and Transportation Services, with the Office of Academic Affairs taking second and the Division of University Advancement in third.

Riggan needs shared leave

UNC Charlotte offers eligible employees 12 paid holidays each calendar year, and the Human Resources Department published the approved holiday schedule annually. The 2022 schedule can be found below: HOLIDAY (University is closed)

Employees recognized with 49er ACE Network Awards

Congratulations to the 2020 and 2021 recipients of the 49er Alumni Campus Employee Network (ACE) Award recipients — Sabrina Brown ’09, Solomon Franklin ’03, ’06, ’11 M.A. , Kevin Edwards-Knight ’09 M.S.W., Brenda Shue ’11, ’13 M.A. Joshua Avery ’03, ’06 M.A. and Darin Spease ’89.  They were recognized during a special luncheon held recently.

Faculty and staff volunteer at Second Harvest Food Bank

UNC Charlotte faculty and staff volunteered at the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina Sort-A-Rama held at the Charlotte Convention Center Thursday, Oct. 14. The University co-sponsored the event.“Thank you to the Second Harvest Food bank team for hosting this volunteer event and for bringing together local organizations and community members to help fight food insecurity in our city,” said Mark Colone, senior director of development at UNC Charlotte. “As a University founded on the very principle of service to others, we are proud to be a sponsor of this year’s Sort-A-Rama.”

Communications studies professor earns PRSA lifetime achievement award

UNC Charlotte’s Dean Kruckeberg, a professor of  communication studies, has earned the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Gold Anvil Award, the organization’s highest honor for lifetime achievement.
