The UNC Charlotte Continuing Education Office is launching a free professional webinar series to address leadership challenges in the workplace.The eight-week series begins Wednesday, April 29, with “Cultivating Resilience in the Midst of Disruption.” Each 45-minute webinar will begin at 1 p.m.; click on the webinar title to register.

Urban Institute: COVID exposes regional inequities

As unemployment rises and schools remain closed, the coronavirus crisis is highlighting some of the many inequalities in the Charlotte region. Study Abroad Photo Exhibit to go virtual

For more than a decade, UNC Charlotte study abroad students have submitted photographs from their overseas programs for an annual Study Abroad Photo Exhibit.This year’s exhibit will be held virtually through the Office of Education Abroad website, starting Monday, April 27, through Friday, May 22.

English professor receives Reynolds Award

Lara Vetter, professor of English, is this year’s recipient of the Thomas L. Reynolds Leadership Award for her contributions to student success and enrollment management.The honor comes with $1,000, an engraved plaque and the recipient’s name engraved on a perpetual trophy on display in the Graduate School.

Provost recognizes excellence in teaching, community engagement

The Provost Awards recognize faculty and academic units for exemplary work in teaching and community engagement. This is vital to UNC Charlotte’s mission to prepare students for chosen careers and to address community needs in the Charlotte region.

Jennifer Webb is among the 2020 recipients of the UNC Board of Governors Awards for Excellence in Teaching.

Graduate School recognizes top teaching assistants

Nitika, a doctoral student in Biological Sciences, and Caroline Brinegar, a master’s student in Geography, were designated UNC Charlotte’s Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistants (TA) for 2020. The pair, who were recognized remotely due to the University’s effort to fight the coronavirus pandemic, were awarded $1,000 and a plaque.
