Campus Wi-Fi coverage increasing by 20 percent
Walk into Popp Martin Student Union and experience one of UNC Charlotte’s busiest hubs of student activity. It also is the first of 24 academic and administrative campus buildings to receive Wi-Fi upgrades this fall; students should experience even faster connection speeds as the number of APs (Access Points) doubled from 71 to 142.

UNC Charlotte receives national designation for student learning assessment
UNC Charlotte is one of five exemplary colleges and universities nationwide to receive the Excellence in Assessment designation.
This distinction recognizes the University’s “commitment to the comprehensive assessment of student learning outcomes as a means to drive internal improvement and advance student success at the institution level.”
Full professors receive Jefferson Cup, other faculty recognized at Convocation
At this year’s University Convocation, Provost Joan Lorden recognized faculty members promoted to full professor. She and Faculty President Richard Leeman presented each a Jefferson Cup, originally designed by Thomas Jefferson. The cup is engraved with the UNC Charlotte logo, the faculty member’s name and the year recognized.
Reminder about the Research Integrity Office
The Research Integrity Office is part of a comprehensive research misconduct program at UNC Charlotte that includes policies, education, investigation and enforcement. The office is responsible for investigating allegations of plagiarism, falsification and fabrication of research materials.

Library hosting exhibit, events on health care reform
“For All the People: A Century of Citizen Action in Health Care Reform” is on display on the first floor of the J. Murrey Atkins Library. This six-banner traveling exhibition was developed and produced by the National Library of Medicine, National Institutes of Health.
