UNC Charlotte will hold its 12th annual campus recognition of International Women’s Day from 3:30 to 5 p.m., Tuesday, March 28, in the Student Union, Room 340.

Registration is now open for UNC Charlotte’s Undergraduate Research Conference (URC), a University-wide showcase of undergraduate research projects.

Sponsored by Academic Affairs, Atkins Library, the Charlotte Research Institute, Honors College, and Levine Scholars Program, the conference will be Friday, April 21, in the Barnhardt Student Activity Center. Colleges and departments across the University also provide conference support. This event will be open to the campus community and to invited guests.

Starting with the 2017-18 academic year, the University will begin to use Poll Everywhere software for classes that use a student response system, previously known as clickers.

The Department of Global, International and Area Studies and the Department of Psychology, housed in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, received approval to become the Department of Global Studies and the Department of Psychological Science, beginning with the spring 2017 semester.

The Council on University Community is accepting proposals for the Chancellor’s Diversity Challenge Fund, which supports initiatives that promote the daily value of diversity in the intellectual life of the campus. Faculty, staff or students are eligible to apply for awards of up to $5,000.

The Office of Extended Academic Programs offers numerous training opportunities. Discounts of up to 50 percent are often available for UNC Charlotte faculty and staff.  Some courses include continuing education and professional development credits for accountants, financial planners, human resource professionals, engineers, attorneys, paralegals, and project managers. Camps on Campus, the University’s summer programs of academic enrichment camps for children and young people in rising grades one through 12, will embark on its 17th year this summer.
