CHHS leads in COACHE survey participation
As of Monday, March 19, the College of Health and Human Services has the highest participation rate for the COACHE Faculty Satisfaction Survey with a nearly 41 percent response rate.
Faculty judges needed for Undergraduate Research Conference
The 2018 Undergraduate Research Conference will be Friday, April 20, in the Barnhardt Student Activity Center.
This conference is a university-wide showcase of research projects completed by undergraduate students of all levels from all colleges and departments.
Conference organizers are seeking faculty members to serve as judges for oral and poster presentation. Twenty volunteer judges are needed for oral presentations; 50 to 60 are sought to assess poster presentations.
N.C. Science Festival to feature expanded educational workshops, Science and Technology Expo
There is a lot of science going on in North Carolina, and on April 1, the state begins the 2018 N.C. Science Festival, a statewide public “celebration of science,” featuring almost 700 events, throughout the entire month.
Now in its seventh year of participation, UNC Charlotte is again part of the N.C. Science Festival’s mind-expanding activities.

Faculty encouraged to complete COACHE survey
Every two years, UNC Charlotte conducts an external survey to assess faculty climate at the institution. The Collaboration on Academic Career in Higher Education at the Harvard School of Education Climate Survey (COACHE) is employed by the University to conduct the survey. In addition to evaluating faculty perceptions of climate at UNC Charlotte, the COACHE data allows faculty members to compare measures of faculty climate satisfaction at their institution with a number of peer institutions.
Registration underway for Women + Girls Research Alliance Summit
Every two years, the Women + Girls Research Alliance at UNC Charlotte hosts a summit focused on important issues in the lives of women and girls. The 2018 summit, scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, April 4-5, is devoted to “The Story of the Charlotte Girl.”
Graduate School dean underwrites new research award
The Graduate School is accepting applications for its newest graduate research grant, the Thomas L. Reynolds Graduate Student Research Fellowship. This unique award is named for the dean of the UNC Charlotte Graduate School.
Apply for Chancellor’s Diversity Challenge Fund grants
The Council on University Community is accepting proposals for the Chancellor’s Diversity Challenge Fund, which supports initiatives that promote the daily value of diversity in the intellectual life of the campus. Faculty, staff or students are eligible to apply for awards of up to $5,000.
